Roosevelt got off to a fast start in its volleyball season opener at Washington on Thursday, rolling to a 3-1 victory with scores of 25-18, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14. "It's always good to get the first one out of the way to see where we are," said Rough Riders coach Holly Lynch. "I thought Washington played extremely well - their defense was very scrappy." A pair of senior outside hitters paced Roosevelt, as Stephanie Kroeze produced a double-double of 10 kills and 15 digs and Heather Goehring added nine kills and five aces.
