Practice doesn't start for more than a month, but the South Dakota State men's basketball team has pulled off one surprise already: Getting into the ESPNU BracketBusters tournament.
The Jackrabbits will be among 102 NCAA Division I squads from 17 conferences participating in the seventh annual event, which pits mid-major programs against one another late in the season in the hope of enhancing their postseason possibilities.
The top 26 teams in the field as of Feb. 2 will be paired up to square off in nationally televised games on Feb. 20-11, while the other 76 candidates will be partnered to compete against each other the same weekend.
